lisha Pearl Wright, born on May 27, 1977, passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2024, at the age of 46. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Herbert Ricks Sr, grandmother, Mattie Pearl Lucas, grandfather, Robert Lee Harrison, uncles Tony, Jim, Syvalia, and her younger cousin, Ronnie McGill.
Alisha is survived by her beloved children, Myron Griffin Jr. and Ashanti Desiree Wright, her father, Elvis Wright, her mother, Beverly Harrison, and her step father, Elgie Barksdale. Additionally, she is survived by her five sisters: Claudia Butler, Shaneena Butler, Dedrea Sellers, Felicies Harrison, and Briggett Harrison, her aunts, Danette Wright, Barbra-Anna Harrison, and Irene McGill. Alisha is also remembered by ten nephews, eight nieces, and numerous cousins.
Other surviving family members include her paternal grandmother, Claudia Diggs; paternal step-grandmother, Betty Ricks; and her uncles and aunts: Tawain, Baronie (Kimberly), Elvis Jr., Claudia, Valerie, Adrienne (Greg), Tasha, Kim, Tyeisha (Daniel), Brenda, Herbert Jr (Isabel), Anthony (Kami), and Donnell, great aunts Pamela and Terry.
Alisha's carefree nature guided her from Allenwood Elementary to Drew Freeman Middle School, and later to Croom Vocational and Job Corps. Her dedication to caring for others led her to pursue her CNA certification, demonstrating her commitment to helping those in need.
Alisha was a woman of diverse talents, excelling in various trades from cosmetology to roofing, and ultimately finding her calling as a home aide. Her infectious energy and love for dancing made her a captivating presence, bringing smiles to all those around her. Alisha's passion for food and her innovative culinary creations were a testament to her creativity and zest for life. Her lively conversations, even when directed at herself, were a reflection of her warm and engaging personality.
On January 8, 2016, Alisha made a lifelong commitment as she married Terrance Washington. She was known for her unwavering love for music, particularly her favorite artist, Mary J Blige, and her powerful voice that filled any room with joy.
Alisha's vibrant spirit and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her legacy lives on through her children and the memories she created with her family and friends. May she rest in peace.
